Why This Beats a Resort

Resorts put you on their schedule. Campgrounds put you next to strangers. The Cass House gives you your own space — a full kitchen to avoid restaurant prices every meal, a real bed after a hard day of riding, and enough land that you can park your trailers, load your gear, and move at your own pace. You’re 3–4 miles from everything you need (provisions, rentals, river access points) but it’s quiet when you come home at night.

The Best OHV Base Camp in the Arkansas Ozarks

Cass sits between two major MVUM trail systems in the Ozark National Forest. Ride in any direction.

The area around Cass and the Mulberry River Valley is one of the most underrated OHV destinations in the mid-South. You’re in the Ozark National Forest, surrounded by thousands of acres of national forest land open to motorized use — ridge-top runs, creek crossings, tight woods trails, and wide forest roads connecting it all. The Cass House is positioned perfectly: Boston Mountain Ranger District trails are to the west; Pleasant Hill Ranger District trails are to the east. Two different systems, two different riding experiences, from one base camp.

Boston Mountain MVUM — West

More technical · Rockier · Mill Creek OHV Area

The Boston Mountain Ranger District covers trails and forest roads west of Cass toward the Mill Creek OHV area. This is the heavier terrain — rockier, more technical in spots. Expect rocky ridge-top roads with long-distance views, creek crossings depending on season, and a mix of open forest road riding and designated single-use trails.

  • Rocky ridge-top roads with long-distance views
  • Creek crossings (seasonal)
  • Staging at Mill Creek OHV area (just west on Hwy 215)
  • Best for intermediate to advanced riders

Pleasant Hill MVUM — East

More accessible · Broader network · Great for UTVs & families

The Pleasant Hill Ranger District trails are east of Cass — generally more accessible, with a broad network of forest roads and ORV routes that cover significant ground through the national forest. Great for riders who want to cover miles, explore, and make a full day of it.

  • Extensive forest road network — easy to navigate
  • Lower overall technical difficulty
  • Great for families and newer riders
  • Ideal for side-by-sides and UTVs
